Mark Lawrenson predicts how many more players Liverpool FC will sign this month
Mark Lawrenson is not expecting to see Liverpool FC make any more signings this month
Mark Lawrenson is tipping Liverpool FC not to make any more signings in the January transfer window.
The Merseyside outfit have already been relatively busy this month, after having secured a deal to sign Virgil van Dijk from Southampton to bolster their defence.
Liverpool FC also agreed to sell playmaker Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, with the Brazilian completing his big-money move to Camp Nou on Monday afternoon.
With the Reds thought to have received a transfer fee of as much as £145m for Coutinho this month, there has inevitably been plenty of speculation linking the Liverpool FC with a number of signings this month.
However, former Liverpool FC star Lawrenson believes that Jurgen Klopp will not bring in any more players this month because of Adam Lallana’s return to fitness.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “This is Liverpool’s first game since losing Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, and having Adam Lallana fit again does soften the blow somewhat.
“I am not sure Jurgen Klopp will look to bring someone else in because I think he will look and think he has got enough to get them into the Champions League places.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are in fourth place in the table right now as they bid to try and secure qualification for the Champions League for the second season running under Klopp.
Liverpool FC will take on FC Porto in the Champions League last 16 next month.
