Liverpool FC have contacted Leicester City about the possibility of signing Riyad Mahrez, say reports
Liverpool FC have made contact with Leicester City about the possibility of signing Riyad Mahrez in the January transfer window, according to reports in France.
French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by Metro, is claiming that the Reds are interested in signing the 26-year-old Algerian as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attacking options this month.
The same report says that Mahrez has been attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona in recent weeks but it is Liverpool FC who appear to be leading the way in the race for his signature.
The story also says that Liverpool FC remain interested in signing Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar, as the speculation about Philippe Coutinho’s future at Anfield continues.
Coutinho has been relentlessly linked with a transfer to Barcelona in the last few months and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool FC could agree to sell him in the January transfer window.
Meanwhile, Liverpool FC’s first January signing Virgil van Dijk capped a brilliant debut for Klopp’s side on Friday night when he scored the winner in the 2-1 derby win over Everton in the FA Cup third round.
The Reds are next in Premier League action when they take on Manchester City at Anfield next Sunday.
