Phil Babb states his prediction for Liverpool FC v Man City
Phil Babb looks ahead to Liverpool FC's clash with Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday
Phil Babb says Liverpool FC have a 50/50 chance of beating Manchester City in their crunch Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds are preparing for their first game since the confirmation of Philippe Coutinho’s big-money transfer to Barcelona from Liverpool FC on Monday.
Liverpool FC will be looking for revenge after Manchester City claimed a thumping 5-0 victory over the Reds when the two teams last met in the Premier League at The Etihad back in September.
Manchester City have been by far the Premier League’s top performing team this season and they have only dropped four points all season so far.
The Citizens remain unbeaten in the Premier League as they prepare to travel to Anfield, but former Liverpool FC star Babb feels that the Reds do have a good chance of beating Pep Guardiola’s men this weekend.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Tuesday, Babb said: “If they score early, Liverpool could go on to get a few more.
“But it’s going to be difficult against a tight Man City side as well. It’s a fifty-fifty chance [Liverpool will win].”
Liverpool FC are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification for the second season running.
The Reds will take on FC Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League next month as they bid to try and reach the quarter-finals.
