Thierry Henry believes Chelsea will finish in second place in the Premier League table unless Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba can produce something special in the second half of the season.

The defending Premier League champions moved to within a point of second-placed Manchester United on Wednesday night following a thrilling 2-2 draw with top-six rivals Arsenal at The Emirates.

Chelsea have managed to find some consistent form in recent months following a return of 33 points from their last 14 Premier League games to hoist themselves back into the division’s top four.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have earned 27 points in their last 14 top-flight outings to lose ground on leaders Manchester City have matched the Citizens stride for stride in the opening months of the campaign.

Pogba has endured a stop-start season due to injuries and suspension but the France international was at his best in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on New Year’s Day.

Former Arsenal legend Henry believes Chelsea will secure second place unless Manchester United find Pogba’s best position in the Red Devils team.

“If Man United find a way for Pogba to play the way he played against Everton, be careful,” Henry told Sky Sports. “But I still say Chelsea [to finish second].”

Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Antonio Conte.
