New Man United signing sends message to Arsenal fans
Alexis Sanchez clarifies his comments about Thierry Henry following his move from Arsenal to Man United
Alexis Sanchez has taken to social media to clarify comments he made about Thierry Henry following his transfer to Manchester United from Arsenal this month.
Sanchez signed for Manchester United on Monday after the relentless speculation linking him with a move to Old Trafford in recent days, and as part of the same deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction.
The Chile international cited Henry in an Instagram post as he explained his decision to leave Arsenal on Monday.
That prompted a response some fans suggesting that Henry could have somehow been involved in Sanchez’s decision to leave Arsenal and sign for Manchester United.
However, Sanchez has now taken to social media to clarify his feelings about Henry and clear up any misinformation.
Sanchez posted on Twitter: “I want to clarify that Henry never told me to leave the club, it was a personal decision … he LOVES the club and someday it would be nice to see him as the arsenal coach because he loves the club …”
Arsenal are now preparing for life without Sanchez and they will return to Premier League action on Tuesday night with a trip to Swansea City.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are gearing up for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Yeovil Town on Friday night, a game in which Sanchez could make his debut for the Red Devils.
Manchester United are second in the table, while Arsenal are currently in sixth place.
