Man United hold talks with agent about signing 26-year-old Brazilian – report
Man United are interested in signing Jorginho from Napoli in the summer, according to reports
Manchester United have held talks with Jorginho’s agent about the possibility of signing the Brazilian midfielder, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Rai Sport, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, is reporting that the Red Devils have met the Napoli midfielder’s representative to discuss the possibility of a move to Old Trafford.
The same report says that Manchester United are monitoring Jorginho’s situation as the Red Devils look for a replacement for Michael Carrick, who is due to retire at the end of the season.
The story also claims that the Red Devils could face competition for the 26-year-old’s signature from German club Borussia Dortmund.
It is understood that the preliminary talks have been held with a view to a possible summer transfer rather than a January switch.
The defensive midfielder has been in solid form for Napoli so far this season, scoring two goals and making three assists in 18 Serie A games for the Italian side.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham at Wembley on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils head into the game after having booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 4-0 win over Yeovil on Friday night.
