Luke Shaw has admitted that he and his Manchester United team-mates have been left in awe of Alexis Sanchez following his arrival at the club.

The Chile international became the Red Devils’ first signing of the January transfer window last week when he completed his move from Arsenal as part of the same deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the other direction.

Sanchez trained with his new team-mates at Carrington last week as he got used to his new surroundings and he made his debut for Jose Mourinho’s men during the 4-0 FA Cup win over Yeovil Town on Friday night.

Shaw has been getting used to training alongside his new team-mate and the defender has admitted that he has been left in awe of Sanchez’s impressive skills.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Shaw said: “We all knew what he was capable of anyway. He’s been with us for a few days now in training and some of the stuff he’s done is unbelievable.

“After training the other day, there were four of us outside there doing free-kicks and he literally put five in the top corner in a row and we all were just like ‘wow, this guy’.

“It’s really good to have him – he’s a good guy and he’ll be even better on the pitch, so I’m really looking forward to playing with him and hopefully he can add to the attacking threat we’ve already got.

“We’ve got unbelievable players up top and he’s only going to boost the strength in depth we have.”

Sanchez will be hoping to feature for Manchester United once again when the Red Devils take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley next week.

The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table as they look to try and finish as close to leaders Manchester City as possible.

Manchester United have not won the Premier League since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
