Pundit: Everything Man United star is doing right now is a mistake
Kevin Kilbane delivers a ruthless assessment of Henrikh Mkhitaryan's current Man United form
Kevin Kilbane believes that Henrikh Mkhitaryan is looking incredibly low on confidence at Manchester United at the moment.
The Armenia international has dropped dramatically down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho this season after starting the campaign relatively well.
The 28-year-old started Manchester United’s FA Cup third-round clash against Derby on Friday night but was substituted at half-time as he was replaced by Romelu Lukaku.
The playmaker seems to be lacking in confidence after having fallen out of favour under Mourinho in recent weeks.
And former Republic of Ireland star Kilbane believes that Mkhitaryan looks like a broken man following his recent displays for Manchester United.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Kilbane said: “Look at the body language of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
“Everything he’s doing at the moment is a mistake, his quality is letting him down at the final third.”
Manchester United secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup by sealing a 2-0 victory over Derby thanks to goals from Jesse Lingard and Lukaku.
The Red Devils are next in action when they host Stoke City at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday week.
Manchester United, who finished in sixth place and won the Europa League last term, are currently in second place in the Premier League table and 15 points behind leaders Manchester City after 22 games of the new campaign.
