Louis Saha: Why I’m not happy about proposed Man United transfer
Louis Saha discusses his thoughts on Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Manchester United
Louis Saha has admitted that he would be disappointed to see Henrikh Mkhitaryan leave Manchester United to sign for Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Armenia international’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent days amid reports that the Gunners were set to bring him to The Emirates as part of the deal which would see Alexis Sanchez head the other way.
Mkhitaryan has failed to find his feet properly at Manchester United despite being one of Jose Mourinho’s first signings at Stamford Bridge.
The Armenia international struggled in his first few months in England and although he was in decent form at the start of this season, he fell out of favour again under Mourinho.
Former Manchester United striker Saha is clearly a big fan of the 28-year-old playmaker and he’s admitted he would be very disappointed to see him leave the club.
Speaking to Goal, Saha said: “He’s a great player, for sure.
“Of course, if he leaves this early, it would be a disappointment because he has huge potential and one would love to play with that kind of player.
“Sometimes there are things outside football or inside the head of the player. But Henrikh himself has done very well.
“It’s a situation where it’s hard to comment more.”
Mkhitaryan played a key role in helping Chelsea to win the Europa League and League Cup under Mourinho last season in the Portuguese coach’s first campaign in charge.
Manchester United are currently now preparing for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Yeovil Town on Friday night.
