Insider reveals Man United won’t sign Brazilian forward if Alexis Sanchez moves to Old Trafford
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol doesn't believe Man United will sign both Alexis Sanchez and Lucas Moura in January
Manchester United won’t sign Lucas Moura if Alexis Sanchez completes a move to Old Trafford, according to reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
Speculation over the weekend suggested that Manchester United were closing in on the signing of Arsenal contract rebel Sanchez despite the Chile international being heavily tipped to move to Premier League leaders Manchester City.
According to reports in the British media, Manchester United are prepared to eclipse Manchester City’s financial terms in order to secure the 29-year-old’s signature ahead of their bitter derby rivals.
Manchester United were linked with a move to sign Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the month to add more creativity and pace to Jose Mourinho’s side.
However, the Red Devils were rumoued to be keen to sign Lucas on a loan deal, while Ligue 1 leaders PSG wanted to offload the Brazilian from their wage bill permanently.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol revealed that Manchester United won’t sign both Lucas and Sanchez in the January transfer window.
“Staying at Manchester United and the latest on Lucas Moura,” Solhekol told Sky Sport News on Monday.
“If they sign Sanchez, then that will end their interest in Moura. He expects to leave PSG this month and he’s hinted that he would be interested in a move to England. PSG beat Manchester United to sign the Brazilian from Sao Paolo in 2013.”
Manchester United have struggled for creativity in the first half of the season when their record signing Paul Pogba has been missing from Mourinho’s team.
The Red Devils will take on Spanish side Sevilla in the Champions League last 16 next month.
