Man United place 24-year-old Serie A striker at top of list to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic – report
Manchester United have placed Andrea Belotti at the top of their wish list to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports
Manchester United have made Torino striker Andrea Belotti their number one target to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports in England.
Yahoo! Sport is reporting that the Red Devils are weighing up possible candidates to replace the retired Sweden international given the 36-year-old’s fitness problems.
With talk of Ibrahimovic moving to Major League Soccer in the summer, the article reveals that Manchester United are already weighing up their options for the summer transfer market.
According to the same story, Italy international Belotti is top of their wishlist following his prolific 18 months at Serie A outfit Torino.
The 24-year-old has scored four times in 15 games in the Italian top flight this term, while the Torino striker netted 25 times in 36 outings in Serie A last season.
Ibrahimovic spent seven months on the sidelines with a serious knee problem before the former Barcelona striker returned to the Manchester United team in November.
However, the talismanic centre-forward has struggled with niggling knee problems over the past couple of months to raise questions about his long-term future at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are in second place in the Premier League table but 15 points adrift of current leaders Manchester City.
The Red Devils will take on La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League last 16 next month.
