Man United lead Liverpool FC in race to sign Ivory Coast star – report
Manchester United are leading the race to sign Jean-Michael Seri from Nice, according to reports
Manchester United are leading the likes of Liverpool FC and Chelsea in the race to sign Jean-Michael Seri from Nice, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Manchester United, Liverpool FC and Chelsea are all tracking the midfielder and that Manchester City could also join the race for his signature.
The same report states that the 26-year-old midfielder has a £35m release clause in his contract with Nice and there could be set to be a “scramble” for his signature this summer.
The story also cites sources close to the player as saying that the midfielder is keen on a move to the Premier League.
Manchester United are set to lose Michael Carrick this summer and could be ready to bolster their midfield options by signing Seri from Nice.
The article also claims that Chelsea are interested in the Ivory Coast international because of the doubts surrounding Tiemoue Bakayoko following his transfer from Monaco last summer.
Liverpool FC are also said to be “on the lookout” because of the uncertainty surrounding Emre Can’s future at the club beyond the summer transfer window.
The midfielder has scored one goal and made three assists in 15 Ligue 1 games for Nice so far this season.
