Manchester United are ready to “strongly” challenge Liverpool FC in the race to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Independent is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on making a move for the 19-year-old attacker, who has been touted as a target for Liverpool FC recently.

However, the same report says that Liverpool FC are leading the chase for Pulisic, who Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a huge admirer of.

Manchester United’s potential interest in Pulisic is said to stem from the idea that he could become the USA’s “first megastar” in football.

And it is also claimed in the same story that Manchester United could be prepared to let Henrikh Mkhitaryan move back to Dortmund in a potential deal to land the teenager in the summer transfer window.

Pulisic has scored three goals and made one assist in 16 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Dortmund so far this season.

Manchester United are inevitably being linked with a host of players this month, but the Red Devils have not yet made any signings as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad.

The Red Devils are currently preparing to host Stoke City at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday night.
