Club confident 25-year-old Brazilian will be Man United’s first January signing – report
Lucas Moura's former club Sao Paolo are confident that the winger is close to signing for Man United, say reports
Lucas Moura’s former club Sao Paolo are confident that the winger is close to a transfer to Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain this month, according to reports in Brazil.
Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte is claiming that people behind the scenes at Lucas’ former club are expecting to see the 25-year-old move to Old Trafford.
The same report says that the transfer fee is expected to be around €25m (£22m), although it also cites a story in French newspaper Le Parisien as saying that the fee would have to be closer to €40m (£35m) to convince PSG to sell.
The story comes after reports in Italy claimed that Lucas had agreed to sign for the Red Devils, but that a fee had yet to be agreed between the two clubs.
Lucas has struggled for game-time at PSG this season and has not started a single Ligue 1 game for the club.
The Brazilian has netted one goal and made one assist in five substitute appearances, but he has only played 72 minutes in total for the French side in the top flight.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently on a warm-weather training camp in Dubai ahead of their Premier League clash with Stoke at Old Trafford on Monday night.
