Man United ready £35m bid to make 29-year-old their first January signing – report
Manchester United are keen to try and sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal this month, say reports
Manchester United will make a bid to try and sign Mesut Ozil from Arsenal in a deal worth up to £35m, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Jose Mourinho has been given the green light to push ahead with a move to try and sign the Germany international from their Premier League rivals.
The same report, though, says that the Red Devils face a serious battle in trying to get Arsenal to sell the playmaker, despite him being out of contract at The Emirates in the summer.
The story also says that Manchester United chiefs are ready to hand Mourinho a transfer budget of as much as £80m as the Portuguese coach looks to strengthen his squad this month.
Ozil has been in much improved form for Arsenal in recent weeks and has been earning praise for his performances for the north London side.
The World Cup winner has scored four goals and made five assists in 18 Premier League games for Arsenal so far this season.
Meanwhile, Ozil will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners take on Chelsea in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
