Insider rules out Man United signing 24-year-old South American forward in January
Sky Sports News reporter Aidan Magee rules out Manchester United signing Paulo Dybala in the January transfer window
Manchester United won’t sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus in the January transfer window, Aidan Magee has claimed.
The Argentina international has been named as a potential target for the Premier League giants given Romelu Lukaku’s inconsistent form.
Dybala, who has been dubbed the new Lionel Messi, has been a revelation since he swapped Palermo for Juventus in 2015.`
The South American has scored 59 times in 121 games in all competitions over the past three seasons to establish himself as a top striker.
Manchester United are a long way behind Manchester City in the title race despite sitting in second place in the Premier League table.
The Red Devils have scored 45 times in 22 games, which is less goals than Manchester City and Liverpool FC.
Dybala’s addition would go some way to helping Jose Mourinho build a team capable of matching their derby rivals.
However, Sky Sports News reporter Magee has ruled out Manchester United getting a deal for Dybala over the line in January.
“I don’t think [it will happen] in January. He has scored 14 goals this season. He is a key player for Juventus,” Magee told the Transfer Talk podcast on Sky Sports.
“They are a big enough club in Europe to keep him. I do think it could happen in the summer.”
Manchester United finished in sixth spot last term but won the League Cup and the Europa League in Mourinho’s first season in charge.
