The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils have been put “on alert” about Ronaldo’s future after claims that he has fallen out with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
The same report states that Ronaldo has sensationally asked for his £900m buyout clause at Real Madrid to be slashed down to £90m.
The story also says that Ronaldo wants to send his seven-year-old son to a private school in England, meaning that a move back to Old Trafford could well be on the cards.
Ronaldo has developed into the best player in world football since his move to Real Madrid from Manchester United back in the summer of 2009.
However, it seems as if his future at the Spanish club could be a source of speculation in the January transfer window.
Manchester United are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming days and weeks as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad.
The Portuguese coach is trying to rally his troops after they slumped to a disappointing goalless draw with Southampton on Saturday – their third stalemate in a row in the top flight.
