Quality 28-year-old attacker ‘pleading’ to sign for Arsenal – report
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been pleading with Borussia Dortmund to let him sign for Arsenal, say reports
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been “pleading” with Borussia Dortmund to let him join Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the 28-year-old attacker is keen on a move to The Emirates as the Gunners continue to be linked with a number of attacking players this month.
The same report says that the Gabon international is “determined” to try and secure a transfer to north London and wants to move this month.
It is also claimed that Arsenal have already held talks with Dortmund about the possibility of signing Aubameyang this month.
The story says that Dortmund rate Aubameyang at around £60m but Arsenal do not want to pay anything near that price.
However, Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Olivier Giroud and that could make a deal easier for the north London side, according to the same story.
Aubameyang is widely regarded as one of European football’s top attacking talents.
He has been in good form for Dortmund so far this season, scoring 13 goals and making three assists in 15 Bundesliga games until now.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are preparing for their home Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at The Emirates on Saturday.
