Paul Merson believes Tottenham Hotspur will edge to a 2-0 win against Everton at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs will be hoping to stay within touching distance of fourth-placed Liverpool FC in the hunt for a top-four spot.

Tottenham are three points adrift of Jurgen Klopp’s men following a decent return during the festive schedule.

Kane has scored 18 goals in 21 games in the Premier League this season to help keep Mauricio Pochettino’s men involved in the top-four race.

Spurs were 3-0 winners against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup third round at Wembley last weekend thanks to Kane’s two goals.

Everton lost 2-1 to Liverpool FC in the FA Cup third round at Anfield last week following Virgil van Dijk’s dramatic winner.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is backing Tottenham to ease to a comfortable win against Everton at Wembley on Saturday.

“Spurs struggled at home to West Ham and it took them a while to break down AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup. But I think they will have too much for an Everton side who are going to sit back and play tight,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“It has worked for them in the past, but they don’t have enough pace on the counter to hurt Tottenham.”

Tottenham finished in second place in the Premier League table last term after finishing seven points adrift of champions Chelsea.

Spurs will take on Serie A giants Juventus in the Champions League last 16 next month after Tottenham finished ahead of defending champions Real Madrid and Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the group stage.

The north London side have finished in second and third place in the last two seasons.
