Jamie Redknapp predicts where Arsenal, Chelsea will finish this season
The Liverpool legend is tipping Arsenal and Chelsea to finish outside the Premier League's top four
Jamie Redknapp is standing by his prediction that Arsenal and Chelsea will finish outside of the Premier League’s top four this season.
The defending champions are a long way behind current leaders Manchester City to effectively rule Chelsea out of the title race.
The Blues have already lost five times in 25 games in the Premier League this season ahead of Monday night’s trip to London rivals Watford.
Chelsea were eliminated from the League Cup at the semi-final stage last month following a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal at The Emirates.
The Premier League title holders are in the Premier League’s top four but coming under pressure from Tottenham Hotspur in the race to secure a Champions League spot.
Former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp is tipping Arsenal and Chelsea to miss out on a top-four spot this term.
“I said a couple of months ago, my two to miss out on a top-four place are Arsenal and Chelsea – and I stand by that. It can so easily change but at the moment you’d say those two are in danger,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“So what does Conte do? I think he needs to focus on the football and stop talking too much about the problems.
“He’s got to work harder on the training ground and get back to doing what he does best: getting those players ready to win football matches.”
Chelsea signed three players in the January transfer window in an attempt to overhaul their squad and propel them towards a top-four finish.
The Blues signed England international Ross Barkley in a £15m from Everton at the start of the most recent transfer window.
The west London side snapped up AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri last week before Olivier Giroud swapped Arsenal for Chelsea on deadline day.
