Dennis Wise makes three blunt predictions about Arsenal ahead of Man City clash
The Chelsea FC legend believes Arsenal won't win the Europa League, the League Cup or finish in the Premier League's top four
Dennis Wise believes the League Cup final will be the start of a disappointing end to the 2017-18 season for Arsenal.
The Gunners will take on runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City in the Carabao Cup showpiece at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal are in sixth place and a staggering 28 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The north London side are eight points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea FC to leave a Champions League spot an unlikely possibility.
The Gunners were 4-2 aggregate winners against Ostasunds in the Europa League last 32 on Thursday night to progress to the next round of the competition.
Arsenal are hoping to emulate Manchester United by winning the Europa League trophy to secure a return to the Champions League.
However, the Gunners can win their first piece of silverware when Arsene Wenger’s side take on Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
Former Chelsea FC captain Wise believes Arsenal will finish the season empty handed.
“Arsenal don’t really know where they are at the moment,” Wise told Sky Sports.
“They won’t get in the Champions League. I don’t think they will win the Europa League and I think they will get beat against Man City.”
Arsenal signed Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January transfer window.
The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot for the first time.
