Arsenal, Liverpool FC told top 22-year-old will move to ‘big club’ in summer
Ex-Leeds midfielder Olivier Dacourt tips Arsenal and Liverpool FC target Thomas Lemar to move to a top club in the summer
Thomas Lemar will move to a “big club” in the summer amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool FC, according to ex-midfielder Olivier Dacourt.
The France international has been linked with a switch to the Premier League since last summer’s transfer window when Arsenal and Liverpool FC were reported to be interested in Lemar.
The Gunners were rumoured to have submitted a club record £92m offer to sign Lemar on transfer deadline day back in August, only for the AS Monaco star to turn down the chance to move to The Emirates.
According to some reports, Lemar would favour a move to Liverpool FC ahead of Arsenal but the Monaco forward remained at the Ligue 1 side beyond the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old scored eight goals and made nine assists in 49 games in all competitions last term to help the French club win the Ligue 1 title and reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Former Leeds United midfielder Dacourt made a prediction about Lemar that will excite Arsenal and Liverpool FC supporters.
“Great! For his shooting especially. Since he’s from Guadeloupe, I’ve been watching him a long time. He has a lot of potential,” Dacourt told bWIN.
“He is in Monaco but he will go to a very big club.”
Lemar has scored three times and has made five assists in 23 appearances in all competitions in the 2017-18 season so far.
The Monaco attacker will be hoping to represent France at the 2018 World Cup.
