Dennis Wise is backing Manchester City to beat Arsenal in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens will be looking to exact revenge for their shock 1-0 loss to League One side Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fifth round last week.

Manchester City are sitting 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and are 28 points ahead of sixth-placed Arsenal.

The Eastlands outfit were 3-1 winners against the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League earlier in the season.

Arsenal have a great record at Wembley over the past four seasons after winning three FA Cup titles and the Community Shield.

The Gunners haven’t won the League Cup since 1993 following losses in the League Cup final in 2007 and 2011.

Former Chelsea FC captain Wise believes Manchester City are clear favourites to beat Arsenal in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

“Man City are more equipped than Arsenal,” Wise told Sky Sports. “It’s as simple as that.”

The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League table and are facing a real battle to finish in the top four.

Arsenal missed out on a Champions League spot last season after the Gunners finished behind Liverpool FC.

The north London side haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04.
