Dietmar Hamann is tipping Manchester City to ease to a 3-1 win against Arsenal at The Emirates on Thursday night.

The Gunners suffered a 3-0 loss to the Premier League leaders in the League Cup final at Wembley last weekend.

Goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva found the net at the home of English football to secure Pep Guardiola’s first trophy as Manchester City boss.

Arsenal produced an inept performance to miss out on the League Cup crown for the third time under Arsene Wenger.

The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 10 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

The Gunners are a staggering 28 points adrift of the current leaders to highlight the widening gap between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Former Liverpool FC midfielder Hamann is backing Manchester City to secure another comfortable win over Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.

“I just think that City is too powerful for Arsenal and sometimes with a possession that they’ve got they just suffocate teams,” Hamann told TAG Heuer.

“And this is Arsenal’s game, if Arsenal hasn’t got the ball then they are half the team and I don’t think they will have the ball as much as they would like to.

“So, I will go 3-1 City.”

Arsenal missed out on a Champions League place last term after finishing in fifth place behind Liverpool FC.

The Gunners face a difficult task breaking back into the top four this term despite the January additions of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
