Ian Wright names one Man City player who could help Arsenal win League Cup
The Arsenal legend is hoping that Claudio Bravo will feature for Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday afternoon
Ian Wright believes Arsenal will have a great shot at winning the League Cup final if Claduio Bravo starts in goal at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners are looking to win the League Cup for the first time under Arsene Wenger after losing 2-1 to Chelsea and Birmingham City in 2007 and 2011.
Arsenal are facing a daunting task given pacesetters Manchester City are 28 points ahead of the Gunners in the Premier League table.
The Citizens have only lost two domestic games in the 2017-18 season with their second defeat coming in a 1-0 loss at Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fifth round last week.
Arsenal lost 3-1 to Manchester City in their Premier League meeting earlier this term, but the Gunners managed to beat the Eastlands outfit in the FA Cup semi-final last season.
Manchester City have been munch-improved this season with Ederson in goal following the well-documented struggles of Claudi Bravo last term.
Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Bravo’s potential inclusion would be a huge boost to the north London side’s League Cup final prospects.
“I haven’t seen Arsenal defend like Wigan [did against City] for many years,” Wright told Sky Sports.
“Arsenal can cause problems in midfield if they break on Man City. If Claudio Bravo is in goal, Arsenal have half a chance. But I can’t call an Arsenal game.
“Arsenal are capable of beating Man City because of Arsenal beating them in FA Cup semi-finals and Chelsea in the FA Cup final. The problem they have is inconsistency.”
Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table but eight points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea FC.
The Gunners signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January transfer window.
