Alexandre Lacazette takes to social media to deliver an update on his knee injury for Arsenal fans

Alexandre Lacazette has taken to social media to thank Arsenal fans for their support after he underwent knee surgery this week.

The French striker left Wembley with a swollen knee after the Gunners’ 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the top flight on Saturday afternoon.

Lacazette has since undergone a minor operation to correct the problem and he will now be out of action for the next four to five weeks.

The news comes as a blow to Arsenal, who are currently preparing for their crunch Europa League clash against Swedish side Ostersunds on Thursday night.

However, Lacazette appears keen to make sure that he will be back in action for Arsenal as soon as possible after going under the knife.

Lacazette posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the following message for his followers: “Thank you everyone for your messages, i Will be not on the pitch for few weeks because i feel pain on my knee, the surgery went Well.. a good recovery before Come back Stonger 💪🏾💪🏾 #Coyg #BeTogether #TeamLaca.”

Arsenal are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC as they bid to try and finish in the top four this season.

The Gunners finished in fifth place last term and won the FA Cup under Arsene Wenger as they had to settle for a place in the Europa League this season.
