Jamie Redknapp names who will be Arsenal’s key player against Man City
Jamie Redknapp picks out Aaron Ramsey as one of Arsenal's key players ahead of Sunday's League Cup final
Jamie Redknapp is backing Aaron Ramsey to have a big say in the League Cup final if he is fit to face Manchester City with Arsenal on Sunday.
The midfielder has been out of action in recent games due to injury but he will be hoping to prove his fitness as the Gunners look to try and win the trophy for the first time under Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal have been struggling to find consistent form in the Premier League this season under Wenger, and the Gunners are currently well off the pace in the race for a top-four finish.
Ramsey and his team-mates will be hoping to be able to give the fans something to celebrate when they take on Pep Guardiola’s men at Wembley this weekend.
And former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp reckons that Ramsey will be the Gunners’ key man when they face the Citizens on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp said: “I think Aaron Ramsey will be key if he’s fit. He’s a big-game player, he has scored in cup finals and he gives them legs in midfield.”
Arsenal are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.
The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
