Thierry Henry makes point about Alexandre Lacazette and new Arsenal signing
Thierry Henry wants to see Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both playing together up front for Arsenal
Thierry Henry has said that he hopes to see Arsene Wenger give both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the chance to play together for Arsenal this season.
The north London side completed a deal to sign the Gabon striker on transfer deadline day after days of speculation linking him with a move to The Emirates.
Aubameyang will now be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Arsenal as he bids to help the Gunners try and break back into the top four this season.
Lacazette joined Arsenal for a then club record transfer free from Lyon last summer and will be hoping to be given a chance alongside the Gunners’ latest big-name signing.
And Henry wants to make sure that Wenger gives both players a chance to impress together for the Gunners between now and the end of the season.
Speaking to Sky Sports News on Wednesday, Henry said: “The only thing I’m thinking is we always talk about supporting cast and it’s better to have two strikers and three and four guys that can help, but where does Lacazette fit into that? H
“He was like the next best thing and came with a big transfer fee like Aubameyang too, so hopefully they can play at times together up front.”
Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Everton at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
Aubameyang could be in line to make his debut for the north Londoners after his move went through the day after the Gunners’ disappointing 3-1 loss to Swansea City in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
