Brazilian attacker reveals future plan after Arsenal and Tottenham links
Reported Arsenal and Spurs target Malcom reveals that he is hoping to leave Bordeaux in the summer transfer window
Reported Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Malcom has confirmed he has an agreement with French side Bordeaux to leave the club in the summer.
The 20-year-old attacker was heavily linked with a move away from Bordeaux in the January transfer window, with both north London clubs reported to have been interested in bringing him to the Premier League.
However, a move for the Brazilian did not materialise as he ended up staying at the French club until the end of this season at least.
Sky Sports claims that both Arsenal and Tottenham were highly interested in signing the attacker in the mid-season transfer window, but it remains to be seen whether the two clubs will reignite their interest in the summer.
Now though, the player himself appears to have confirmed that an exit is indeed on the cards for him ahead of the summer transfer window.
Malcom told Brazilian outlet UOL: “Yes, there was a promise that I will be negotiating in June. I will choose the team, and Bordeaux will let me go.”
He added: “I already said that I would have liked to leave this winter to meet new challenges.
“But I must also remember that Bordeaux helped me a lot.
“I gave my word to Bordeaux that I will continue [with the club] to be able to have more time to choose my future club.
“These next three or four months will make a big difference.”
Malcom has scored eight goals and made six assists in 24 Ligue 1 games for Bordeaux so far this season.
Arsenal, who are currently sixth in the Premier League table, already spent big on bolstering their attack in the summer by claiming deals for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
