Arsenal boost as FC Barcelona end interest in signing quality 24-year-old – report
FC Barcelona have ended their interest in Lyon's Nabil Fekir, handing Arsenal a potential boost, say reports
Arsenal have been handed a potential boost in their reported pursuit of Nabil Fekir after FC Barcelona ended their interest in the Lyon attacker, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Sport is reporting that the La Liga giants have decided against following up their interest in the 24-year-old France attacker ahead of the summer transfer window.
The story says that the La Liga side were keeping a close eye on the attacker but have agreed that he is not up to the level required for a move to Camp Nou.
The same article says that FC Barcelona have opted against a move for Fekir, mainly because they already have a plethora of talent in his position.
Fekir has been in brilliant form for Lyon so far this season, scoring 16 goals and making six assists in 23 Ligue 1 games.
He has also netted three times in the Europa League so far this season for the French outfit.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the attacker in recent months and the reports that FC Barcelona are no longer in the race for his signature is likely to be a solid sign.
The north London side are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
