Wenger picks quality 24-year-old as his top Arsenal summer transfer target – report
Arsene Wenger has picked Lyon's Nabil Fekir as Arsenal's number one transfer target for the summer window, say reports
Arsene Wenger has selected Lyon’s Nabil Fekir as Arsenal’s number one transfer target for the summer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Gunners boss is willing to shell out as much as £45m to land the 24-year-old attacker in the summer transfer window as he bids to continue to strengthen his squad.
Arsenal have already recently done business with Lyon, with the Gunners having signed Alexandre Lacazette in a big-money deal last summer.
The same report says that the French club are likely to be reluctant to lose their key man in the summer transfer window, even though Wenger has reportedly picked out the French forward as his number one target.
The story also claims that Wenger wants to try and complete a deal for Fekir before he reports for France duty ahead of his summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Fekir has been in fine form for Lyon so far this season, scoring 16 goals and making six assists in 22 Ligue 1 games for the French side.
Arsenal, who are currently sixth in the Premier League table, already spent big on bolstering their attacking options in the January window by signing both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
