Arsene Wenger is keen to re-sign former Arsenal academy star Oguzhan Ozyakup from Besiktas, according to reports in England.

Football.London, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Gunners boss is keen to bring the 25-year-old back to the north London club.

The same article states that Turkish midfielder has already received a number of “astronomical” offers following his brilliant form for Besiktas.

According to the story, Wenger has spoken to Ozyakup about a potential return to Arsenal after the Gunners sold the midfielder to the Turkish side in a £400,000 deal in 2012.

Ozyakup has less than six months remaining on his current deal with the Super Lig club to open up the possibility of a free transfer at the end of the 2017-18 season.

The former Gunners youth player has scored 27 goals and has made 46 assists in 207 appearances in all competitions for Besiktas over the past six seasons.

Arsenal sold French midfielder Francis Coquelin to La Liga giants Valencia in the January transfer window.

Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are set to become free agents in the summer unless the Gunners can convince the British duo to sign new contracts.

The Gunners lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby at Wembley last weekend.
