Arsenal want to sign quality 20-year-old to link up with Aubameyang – report
Arsenal are planning an audacious bid to try and sign Ousmane Dembele this summer, according to reports
Arsenal want to sign Ousmane Dembele this summer in a bid to reunite Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with his former Borussia Dortmund team-mate, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners could be lining up an audacious bid to try and sign Barcelona’s talented 20-year-old in the summer transfer window.
The same report says that Aubameyang himself would be “keen” to see the winger arrive in north London, just weeks after being reunited with former Dortmund star Mkhitaryan at The Emirates.
Dembele has had a difficult season so far this term due to form and fitness issues, with the Frenchman having been limited to just 170 minutes in La Liga this term.
Barcelona spent an eye-watering £135m on signing Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, and the winger has a £369.6m release clause in his contract with the Spanish side.
Arsenal have been spending big on bolstering their attacking options in recent weeks, after completing deals to bring both Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang in the January window.
The Gunners also broke their club transfer record to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon last summer.
Meanwhile, Arsenal took a big step towards the last 16 of the Europa League by beating Swedish side Ostersunds 3-0 on Thursday night.
