New Chelsea FC signing declares his fitness ahead of Watford clash
Emerson Palmieri declares himself as fit and ready after signing for Chelsea FC from Roma this week
Emerson Palmieri has insisted that he is feeling fit and ready to perform for Chelsea FC after signing for the Blues from Roma this week.
The 23-year-old Brazilian defender has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year contract with the west London side after having been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent days.
The defender has only recently recovered from a serious injury and will now be looking to prove his fitness to Chelsea FC boss Antonio Conte.
The good news is that Emerson did not feature for the Italian club in the Champions League this season, meaning that he will be available for the clash with Barcelona later this month.
And the defender has now revealed that he is feeling fit and ready to try and prove himself at Stamford Bridge following his much-anticipated move.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website, Emerson said: “Physically I feel great.
“The injury is now in the past, they were six difficult months for me but what is important is right now I feel good.
“I couldn’t feel better so I only have in mind the idea of training with my team and helping us to achieve more.”
Emerson will be looking to win a spot in the Chelsea FC side this season, with the Blues set to travel to Watford in their next Premier League game on Monday night.
The Blues are aiming to at least finish in the top four this season as they look to secure Champions League qualification for next term under Conte.
