Chelsea FC have joined FC Barcelona in the race to sign Stefan De Vrij from Lazio this summer, say reports
Chelsea FC have joined FC Barcelona in the race to sign Stefan De Vrij from Lazio this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by The Sun, is claiming that the Blues are now among the clubs interested in signing the Netherlands defender this summer.
The same report says that the Dutch defender is likely to have a huge number of offers this summer because he is out of contract at the end of the season.
The article also claims that the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool FC will all offer contracts to the defender once his current deal expires.
However, Chelsea FC and FC Barcelona are also now believed to have joined the race to land the defender in the summer transfer window.
But despite those claims, the article also suggests that Serie A side Inter Milan are the favourites to secure De Vrij’s signature in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The west London side are in fourth place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and finish in the top four this term.
