Dennis Wise has suggested that a partnership between Carlo Ancelotti and John Terry would be an ideal situation should Antonio Conte leave the Blues.

The Italian coach is coming under pressure at Stamford Bridge following a disappointing start to 2018 in the Premier League following one win in five outings.

Chelsea FC have dropped down to fourth place in the Premier League table following a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge before a 4-1 defeat at London rivals Watford.

The Blues manager has been regularly critical of the west London club’s transfer policy after Conte missed out on some of his top targets in the last two transfer windows.

According to speculation over the past week, Conte is on the brink at Chelsea FC ahead of some huge games against Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United in the next month or so.

Former Blues skipper Wise suggested the Blues turn to their ex-manager Ancelotti with club legend Terry as his assistant should Conte’s reign be brought to an end.

“If you brought someone like Carlo Ancelotti in and John Terry alongside him, the fans would accept something like that,” Wise told The Debate on Sky Sports.

Chelsea FC signed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.

The Blues won the Premier League title with two games to spare last term after he finished seven points clear of their closest challengers Tottenham Hotspur.
