Jamie Redknapp has warned Chelsea FC that the defending champions will find it difficult to replace Antonio Conte with a better manager.

The Blues head coach is coming under pressure following a disappointing start to 2018 following one win in their last five Premier League games.

Chelsea FC lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge last week before the Blues suffered a resounding 4-1 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road on Monday night.

The west London side are in fourth place in the Premier League table and a point ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

The Chelsea FC manager is purported to be facing an uncertain future at the west London club given his complicated relationship with the board.

Former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp believes Chelsea FC will be hard pressed to find a better manager than Conte.

“It is easy to forget what a wonderful job Conte did last season,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

“Sacking managers has worked for Chelsea in the past but they will struggle to find a better coach to replace him.”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title for the second time in three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Conte.

The Blues are in the fifth round of the FA Cup but Chelsea FC lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final.

Conte was appointed as Mourinho’s permanent successor back in May 2016.
