Jamie Carragher: What I really think about Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard
The Liverpool FC legend speaks in glowing terms about Chelsea FC forward Eden Hazard
Jamie Carragher has described Eden Hazard as one of the greatest-ever forwards to play in the Premier League.
The Belgium international has managed to maintain his high standards throughout the 2017-18 season despite Chelsea FC’s inconsistent form.
Hazard broke the deadlock with a precise finish after Olivier Giroud’s delicate assist at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
The Blues doubled their advantage through Victor Moses before Hazard managed to beat West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster at the near post.
The Belgian forward has scored 11 goals and has made two assists in 23 appearances in the Premier League this season.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a potential move to La Liga giants Real Madrid given los Blancos’ well-documented problems this term.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher rated Hazard as one of the Premier League’s best-ever players following another mesmerising performance.
“He is one of the strongest players in the Premier League,” Carragher told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
“The world’s greatest ever players that we’ve seen, not just in the Premier League, are often flair players so as a defender, you think ‘I can leave one on them’ or something like that, but you can’t bully the best players.
“He’s exactly the same, and he has that strength where you can’t get the ball off them.”
Hazard has won two Premier League titles in three seasons at Stamford Bridge after he scored a combined 30 goals in their triumphant campaigns under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
The Belgian forward has also got his hands on the Europa League and the League Cup during a six-season spell at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea FC will take on Championship side Hull City in the FA Cup fifth round next weekend.
