Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC submit offers for 22-year-old La Liga attacker – report
Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC have a concrete interest in Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio, according to reports
Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC are among two of the clubs interested in signing Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio in the summer, according to a report in Spain.
Diario Gol, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC have submitted offer for the 22-year-old playmaker ahead of the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Asensio is growing increasingly frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities under current Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
According to the same story, the Spanish playmaker has informed the Real Madrid board that he will leave in the summer if his prospects don’t improve at The Bernabeu.
Arsenal are another Premier League club touted with a potential interest in the Real Madrid midfielder but the Gunners were unable to sign Asensio last month.
The former Mallorca midfielder has scored 20 times in 73 games in all competitions over the past two seasons in the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid signed Asensio in a £3.5m deal from Mallorca in the 2015 January transfer window.
The Spanish playmaker won the La Liga title and the Champions League crown during the 2016-17 season at The Bernabeu.
Asensio was part of the Spain Under-19 team that won the Under-19 European championship back in 2015.
