Graeme Souness was clearly not very impressed by Alvaro Morata’s performance in Chelsea FC’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.

The Spanish striker was restored to the starting line-up after having been used predominantly as a substitute by Antonio Conte following his return from a back injury.

Willian gave Chelsea FC the lead in the 32nd minute at Old Trafford but their advantage did not last long.

Romelu Lukaku fired home a leveller for Jose Mourinho’s men six minutes before half-time.

And substitute Jesse Lingard headed home in the 75th minute to put Manchester United 2-1 up in front of their home fans at Old Trafford.

Former Liverpool FC star Souness was impressed by Chelsea FC’s display in the first half at Old Trafford but felt that Morata’s display left a lot to be desired.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Chelsea FC’s first-half performance, Souness said: “I think Chelsea were fabulous.

“If Morata was taking part in the game, they’d have bossed it properly.

“This is not an easy place to come and play. Man United didn’t play well but at the same time they were difficult to play against. Chelsea were fabulous.”

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday next week with an equally tricky trip to Manchester City.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have the next seven days off before their Premier League trip to Crystal Palace on Monday night the week after next.
