The French forward opted to quit the north London side for their local rivals in the January transfer window as he bids to gain some valuable playing time ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Giroud had been limited to just one Premier League start for the Gunners this season so it was no wonder that he was keen to move to a club where he may be able to get some more regular playing time.
Ramsey and Giroud played alongside each other at The Emirates for many years and they both helped the Gunners win the FA Cup three times in the last four seasons.
And Welsh midfielder Ramsey was clearly sad to see his former team-mate move to Chelsea FC after the transfer was confirmed last week.
Ramsey posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Oli, good luck my friend with the new chapter in your career.
“You have been brilliant to play along side over the years and I’ve had so many great memories on the pitch with you. I wish you and the family all the best for the future 👊 #nanana.”
Giroud will be hoping to make his first appearance for Chelsea FC when the Blues take on Watford in the Premier League at Vicarage Road on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Ramsey could be set to come up against his former team-mate Theo Walcott on Saturday when Arsenal host Everton in the top flight.
