Antonio Conte sends worrying message to Chelsea FC fans about Alvaro Morata
Antonio Conte admits that he is worried about Alvaro Morata's long-term injury lay-off with Chelsea FC
Antonio Conte has admitted that he is worried about Alvaro Morata’s recent injury problem after confirming that the striker will not be fit for Chelsea FC’s clash with West Brom on Monday night.
The Spanish forward, who signed for the Blues from Real Madrid last July, has been struggling with a back injury in recent weeks and has not been able to feature.
Morata has not featured for Chelsea FC since being sent off in the 1-1 draw in the FA Cup against Norwich City back on 17 January and it is not yet clear when he will be fit again.
Conte has now confirmed that Morata will definitely miss the clash against West Brom on Monday night and revealed that he is still not sure when the striker will be back available again.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon, Conte said: “Morata won’t be ready but Giroud is training with us and will be in contention.
“Players like Morata, for us that are very important, have been missing for a long time.
“He has a problem and we’re struggling to solve the pain he has. I don’t know how long he will be out and for this reason I’m a bit worried.”
Chelsea FC head into their clash against the Baggies desperately looking to get back to winning ways in the top flight after they suffered back to back defeats by Bournemouth and Watford.
Morata has been in good form for the Blues since signing from Real Madrid last summer, scoring 10 goals and making four assists in the Premier League so far.
