Charlie Nicholas admits Antonio Conte has won over the Arsenal legend since his impressive Premier League title success with Chelsea FC.

The Italian coach took over the reins at Stamford Bridge in 2016 following Chelsea FC’s disappointing tenth-placed finish.

The Blues won the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge thanks in part to an impressive 13-game winning run.

Chelsea FC finished seven points clear of their closest challengers Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League title race.

The west London side have struggled in the current campaign and are in fourth place in the table after losing two of their last three top-flight games.

Conte has been critical of the Chelsea FC board this season after missing out on some of his top transfer targets.

Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas believes Conte still isn’t happy at the west London side despite an impressive performance in a 1-1 draw with Barcelona mid-week.

“I never particularly liked him as a player as I felt he wanted to fight the world, but I’ve liked him ever since he walked into Chelsea and the way they’ve performed this season,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.”However, he looks like he’s constantly despondent.

“I know the board can upset managers but even midweek it wasn’t the same sort of celebration when they scored against Barcelona.”

Conte’s side drew 1-1 with Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.

The Blues made the breakthrough thanks to Willian before Lionel Messi equalised 10 minutes later to score a vital away goal.

Chelsea FC will make the trip to second-placed Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday.
