Antonio Conte has told Chelsea FC fans that Emerson Palmieri will make his Chelsea FC debut as soon as he proves himself as ready for the first team.

The Brazilian defender became the west London side’s second signing of the January transfer window last week when he joined the Blues from Roma after days of speculation linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Emerson has already linked up with his new team-mates and has been training at Cobham in recent days as he bids to try and break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC will take on Watford in their next Premier League game at Vicarage Road on Monday but it remains to be seen whether Emerson will be available, especially considering that he has missed most of this season due to a serious injury.

However, Conte has now assured the Brazilian defender and Chelsea FC fans that Emerson will be given his chance to shine in the team as soon as he proves himself to be ready.

Speaking at a news conference at Chelsea FC’s Cobham training ground on Friday afternoon, Conte said of Emerson: “For me, if a player deserves to play, then he will play.”

Chelsea FC head into their trip to Watford desperately looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after the disappointment of their 3-0 loss to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge last week.
