The French striker has been settling in to life at Stamford Bridge after having signed for the Blues from Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Giroud will be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge in the coming months as he bids to secure his place in the France squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
The 31-year-old opened his Chelsea FC account when he netted along with Willian’s brace and Pedro Rodriguez’s strike in the Blues’ dominant FA Cup win on Friday night.
And Conte has admitted his delight at seeing the striker net his first goal for the west London side since his January move.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Conte said: “It’s important for his confidence. When you score your confidence grows.
“It was also important for Willy to score twice, and for Pedro to score. We need goals from our strikers.”
Chelsea FC will now switch their attentions towards preparing for their crunch Champions League last 16 showdown against FC Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues are hoping to progress far in Europe’s elite club competition this season after seemingly surrendering their title to Manchester City.
