Antonio Conte has challenged his Chelsea FC team to play with “enthusiasm” as they prepare for their crunch Champions League showdown with FC Barcelona next week.

The Blues are preparing to welcome the La Liga giants to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night for the first leg of their last 16 tie against the Spanish side.

Chelsea FC warmed up for the game in style, by securing an impressive 4-0 win over Hull City on Friday night to book their place in the sixth round of the FA Cup.

The west London side now have the weekend off to prepare for the visit of the Spanish side to west London in what promises to be a thrilling encounter at Stamford Bridge.

And Conte has admitted that he is looking forward to seeing his Chelsea FC side try and fight for the victory against the Spanish giants.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Friday night, Conte said: “The last two wins were very important for our confidence and to prepare in the right way for Barcelona.

“It’s a massive game. We must be confident to prepare for it in the right way. The game starts at 0-0, and then we have to try to move it in the right direction.”

‘To play against Barcelona is a great challenge for us. At the same time, this type of game must give us great enthusiasm and we must be excited to play it, because I consider Barcelona one of the best teams in the world.’

Chelsea FC are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they at least search for a top-four finish in Conte’s second campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian manager guided the Blues to the Premier League title in his first campaign in west London.
