Cesar Azpilicueta reacts to Chelsea FC's 1-1 draw with FC Barcelona on Tuesday night

Cesar Azpilicueta has taken to social media to issue a Chelsea FC rallying cry after their 1-1 draw with FC Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday night.

The Blues played well in the first half and missed two chances to take the lead when Willian hit both posts before the break.

The Brazilian attacker eventually gave the home side the lead in the 62nd minute when he fired in a low shot from close range to put Antonio Conte’s men 1-0 up.

However, the west London side were pegged back moments later when Lionel Messi drilled home an equaliser to net a vital away goal for the visitors.

The result leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the return leg at Camp Nou on 14 March.

And Spanish defender Azpilicueta has clearly not lost hope of Chelsea FC making it through to the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition, despite Tuesday’s draw.

He posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “We will fight again in the 2nd leg! 💙 #KTBFFH @chelseafc 💪🏻 @championsleague.”

Chelsea FC now switch their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are currently in second place in the Premier League table.
