Antonio Conte admits he is wary of the threat posed by Alexis Sanchez ahead of Chelsea FC's trip to Man United
Antonio Conte has admitted that his Chelsea FC team will have to be wary of the threat posed by Alexis Sanchez ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils completed the signing of the Chile international from Arsenal in the January transfer window as part of a swap deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to The Emirates.
The 29-year-old has been settling into life at Old Trafford and has scored one goal in his first three appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils.
Sanchez will be expecting to start for Manchester United when they host Chelsea FC in a crunch Premier League clash at Old Trafford this weekend.
And Conte has admitted that Manchester United’s signing of the Chile star from Arsenal has made them even more of an attacking threat.
Speaking at a news conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon, Conte said: “United were strong before and are strong now.
“When you add a great player like Sanchez you are stronger.
“But our situation doesn’t change. We have to prepare for the game and my expectation is to see him on the pitch with Romelu Lukaku, then I don’t know if they will have another midfielder or a number 10.”
Chelsea FC head into the game looking to keep their bid to finish in the top four on track this season.
The Blues have had to realign their targets for the season after having won the title last term but falling way behind Manchester City in the race for the trophy this time around.
