Eden Hazard sends message to Chelsea FC fans about Lionel Messi
Eden Hazard plays down any comparisons between the Chelsea FC star and Lionel Messi
Eden Hazard has played down any comparisons between the Chelsea FC playmaker and Lionel Messi.
Hazard has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents since his move to the west London side from French outfit Lille back in the summer of 2012.
The 27-year-old has won two Premier League titles during his stint at Chelsea FC so far and he was voted as the PFA Player of the Year back in 2015.
The Belgian will be hoping to help Chelsea FC enjoy many more years of success if he stays on at the west London side.
Hazard is often talked about in the same bracket as the likes of Messi and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the player himself has insisted that those kinds of comparisons are pointless because he has a different style of play to the Argentine attacker.
Speaking at a news conference before Chelsea FC’s clash with FC Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Hazard said: “It is good to be compared with the best in the world, Messi and Ronaldo, but I am different.
“We play in different leagues, I try to do my job.
“I try to reach that level, their level, and so every season I try to do my best.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to Premier League action on Sunday with a crunch clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
