Antonio Conte believes that the future is bright for Ethan Ampadu at Chelsea FC

Antonio Conte believes that Ethan Ampadu is set for a “brilliant” future at Chelsea FC after his impressive performances this season.

The defender has been earning plenty of praise for the performances his has produced for the west London side since his move from Exeter City last summer.

Ampadu has been showing maturity beyond his years whenever called upon by Conte in the cup competitions at Chelsea FC this season.

And the Blues boss is expecting big things from the Welsh defender, as well as fellow youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi, in the years to come as he continued to develop and improve his game at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at a news conference on Thursday before the FA Cup clash against Hull City, Conte said: “For me it’s not difficult to predict a brilliant future for Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi.

“In the past, in the Carabao Cup and also the FA Cup, I gave them the chance to play. We are talking about two of the best players in our Academy.”

Chelsea FC now switch their attentions towards their crunch Champions League showdown against FC Barcelona in the first leg of their last-16 tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The Blues will be hoping to progress in Europe’s elite club competition as they look to try and enjoy a strong second half of the season under Conte.

The west London side have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League so far this season and they find themselves in fourth place in the table after having won the title last term.
